Cryptography using OPU

I would like to know if the OPU could be used in some way to speed cryptographic computations like ciphering (AES) and hashing (MD5/SHA…)

Hi! The OPU can be useful for some non-conventional hashing, like locality sensitive hashing (LSH - Locality-sensitive hashing - Wikipedia), where the goal is to hash similar input items into the same “buckets” with high probability; quite the opposite of crypto hashing algorithms like MD5, SHA, etc.
Since this doesn’t fall in our field of expertise, we haven’t tested the traditional ciphering and hashing algos, but of course you are more than welcome to give it a try!
